HEALTH CARE DATA and STATISTICS
The Division of Government Research
(DGR)
has previously assisted the New Mexico Health Policy Commission
(NM HPC)
in performing data integration/analysis and GIS work using New Mexico
health care information from various NM HPC and other sources.
There has not been any recent work conducted by DGR for the NM HPC.
Please contact the NM HPC for health care related information.
There has been interest expressed by other healthcare researchers in the
gravity model technique developed by DGR, UNM for measuring geographic access
to health care providers and facilities. Information about this gravity model
has never been formally published and no recent developments have taken place
as there has been no funding available. Because we feel that this technique
has significant utility and applications beyond New Mexico, we have made
the following background information (posters and presentations) available
to help other researchers.
about this technique. All inquiries for information should be addressed to
the DGR at UNM.
The following poster was presented
at the ESRI Southwest User Group Conference (SWUG)
held in Taos, New Mexico October 2002. This poster
won the poster contest for analytical content.
