DGR is an applied research and public service organization at UNM.
Most of our funding comes from state government agencies in the form
of contracts and grants for specific projects. As such, we are
more similar to a state government agency for which we are doing the
work than to a typical academic department at UNM.
Although DGR does provide training and work experience for students
(see student employment),
we have found that
full and part-time staff employees that have already earned a
degree and have some work experience are generally more productive
than student employees.
