Computer Aide, Level 1 (pay rate: Group III, Step IV) $7.00 per hour
This position requires basic computer skills, with a background in programming preferred. The student should have background or interest in data analysis and statistics. Duties include: modifying existing programs to extract information from databases, writing memos to the client explaining the results, and assisting with desktop publishing software in producing reports. Additionally, the student is expected to learn SAS and become familiar with the databases used at DGR. The student works under close supervision and training by other staff.
Computer Aide, Level 2 (pay rate: Group IV, Step I) $8.00 per hour
This position requires a basic knowledge of SAS programming, familiarity with the databases used at DGR, and proficiency in using desktop publishing software. Duties include those of Computer Aide, Level 1 as well as the following: developing new programs to extract and present information, providing program documentation and users guides to clients. The student works under limited supervision, possibly assisting other students, and works independently to complete project pieces.
Computer Aide, Level 3 (pay rate: Group IV, Step II) $9.00 per hour
This position requires advanced knowledge of SAS programming and the databases used at DGR. Additionally, the student should have general knowledge of public health/traffic crash issues relating to DGR projects and the ability to solve complicated analysis problems under the general direction of staff. Duties include those of Computer Aide, Level 2 as well as analyzing data and writing analytical reports as requested by the client. The student works under minimal supervision, possibly training other students and leading small project teams.
GIS Specialist , Level 1 (pay rate: Group III, Step IV) $7.00 per hour
This position requires a basic knowledge of statistical principles, mapping, and computer programming techniques, and an attention to details. Duties include the following: operation of computer software packages (ARC/INFO, ArcView, SAS), map reading and interpretation, computer based map and database editing, and applications programming. The student is expected to become increasingly proficient in the use of the software listed above. The student works under close supervision and training by other staff.
GIS Specialist , Level 2 (pay rate: Group IV, Step I) $8.00 per hour
This position requires intermediate knowledge of statistical principles, mapping, and computer programming techniques, and advanced computer mapping skills. The student should be highly proficient in using GIS software(ARC/INFO, ArcView) and be able to recognize and correct errors independently. Duties include those of GIS Specialist, Level 1 with the added responsibilities of assisting other students and completing project pieces independently. The student works under limited supervision.
GIS Specialist , Level 3 (pay rate: Group IV, Step II) $9.00 per hour
This position requires advanced preparation in the areas of GIS design and application. A strong math/statistical and computing background is essential. Experience in locational/spatial modeling and statistical applications for the social sciences are helpful. Duties include those of GIS Specialist, Level 2 with the added responsibility of developing projects with general direction from staff.. The student works under minimal supervision and may be solely responsible for small projects.
Office Assistant, Level 1 - (pay rate: Group III, step I) $6.25 per hour
This position requires basic computer and word processing skills. Duties are general office work, including answering telephones, word processing, filing, and typing forms. The student is expected to learn the details of DGRs filing and accounting systems, and the UNM policies and procedures relevant to accounting. The student works under close supervision and training by staff.
Office Assistant, Level 2 - (pay rate: Group IV, step I) $7.00 per hour
This position requires a solid knowledge of DGRs filing system, basic knowledge of DGRs accounting system and a general understanding of the UNM policies and procedures relevant to accounting. It also requires basic knowledge of spreadsheet applications. The duties include general office work, management of DGRs filing system and associated computer index, assisting with accounting functions, and working with the accounting offices to resolve problems. The student works under limited supervision.
Office Assistant, Level 3 - (pay rate: Group IV, step II) $7.50 per hour
This position requires advanced knowledge of DGRs accounting and filing systems, a good working knowledge of the UNM policies and procedures relevant to accounting, and good working knowledge of spreadsheet applications. In addition to the duties of Office Assistant, Level 2, this student also manages DGRs accounting system, produces budget projections, and, with assistance, develops spreadsheet applications for accounting purposes. This student works under minimal supervision.
Computer Tech - Network Specialist, Level 3 - (pay rate: Group III, Step IV) $7.00 per hour
This position requires a background in computer science and programming. Experience with Windows NT/2000, UNIX(AIX and LINUX), C++, and Visual Basic is desirable. Work involves assisting staff and students in the maintenance of departmental computing facilities and applications programming. The student works under moderate supervision, possibly assisting other studens.
