Research Interests

Interested in a broad array of environmental issues, with a particular focus on the American West. Research emphasizes an interdisciplinary perspective. Areas of interest include: environmental economics, non-market valuation, sustainable development and ecological economics, policy and institutional analysis, forest and water resources management, public lands management, biodiversity and endangered species protection, survey and experimental methods, consumer economics.

The basic template also matches national telephone surveys (2000) designed and conducted at UNM's Institute for Public Policy. This work was oringinally funded by a National Science Foundation grant, and was part of a collaborative research effort with my colleagues: Dave Weimer (La Follette School, University of Wisconsin), Hank Jenkins-Smith, and Carol Silva (Bush School, Texas A&M University), Alok Bohara (UNM), and Hui Li (Eastern Illinois University)
