Arlie Woodrum  

Arlie Woodrum is Associate Professor in and coordinator of the Educational Leadership Program at the University of New Mexico. He received his Ed.M. and Ed.D in Administration, Planning and Social Policy at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Dr. Woodrum has served as Senior Research Associate at the Harvard Project on Schooling and Children, as well as Director of Children Studies at Harvard. As a graduate student, Professor Woodrum was co-editor of the Harvard Educational Review. He is co-author of The Rural Principalship: Promises and Challenges, and co-editor of Breaking Free: The Transformative Power of Critical Pedagogy. His recent research has focused on the cultural assumptions inherent in standardized testing and their frequent mismatch with the values of poor and working-class students and communities.
