English 219 and 220 are additional courses offered in the Speaking and Writing Core. Prerequisites: C or better in English 102, enrollment in the Writing Proficiency Portfolio program, or 650 or higher on the SAT or 29 or higher on the ACT.

English 219: Technical and Professional Writing
Practice in writing and editing workplace documents, including correspondence, reports, and proposals. Prerequisite English 102 or equivalent.

English 220: Expository Writing
An intermediate writing course that emphasizes rhetorical approaches to texts and events and effective style.
