English 100

Introductory Studies English 100 is not offered by the UNM English Department but is a developmental course taught on UNM's campus by faculty from TVI. English 100 prepares students for first-year college composition by providing practice of the rhetorical and grammatical skills necessary to write purposeful, reader-centered essays.

The course covers effective use of a writing process in out-of-class essays and in timed, in-class situations. Satisfactory completion of English 100 meets the prerequisite for English 101. English 100 is offered on a CR/NC basis only. Students who need more information about IS-English 100 should contact the Introductory Studies Program at 277-5970.
