Engl. 520.004: Writers in the Community Writers in the Community is a course designed to place UNM writing students into diverse community settings to work alongside students of all ages, needs, interests and abilities. WTC writing workshops will be offered in schools, justice settings, neighborhood community centers, healthcare facilities, and City of Albuquerque culture and arts programs. WTC also aims to develop internships in publishing, editorial, library collections, and other professional writing environments. The WTC writers-in-residence will facilitate writing workshops and literary projects and work with teachers and program coordinators to accomplish goals established between the UNM students and their sponsors. The students’ projects will culminate in the publication of an anthology of participants’ work and a celebratory community reading. |
