Richard Obenauf
Richard Obenauf (magna cum laude) is a PhD candidate with a TA at Loyola University. Alex Aceves (summa cum laude) is pursuing an MLitt at King’s College, London, and Maria DeBlassie (magna cum laude) is pursuing a PhD in English at the University of Washington, with a TA and first-year fellowship. Austin Hansell (cum laude) is studying toward an M.A. at the University of Oregon in Eugene, and Joe Buffaloe (magna cum laude) is teaching 11 th grade English at Tohatchi High School on the Navajo reservation, where he is starting a school newspaper.
Elaine Almquist & Erin Barringer
Elaine Almquist (cum laude), is pursuing a Doctorate of Audiology at the University of Kansas, and Erin Barringer, a former officer in Sigma Tau Delta, worked in London for a year and is studying toward a Masters of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. Lane McConnell (cum laude, double major with Math) is pursuing a PhD in applied mathematics at Northwestern with a first year fellowship.

Matthew Garcia
Matthew Garcia has received a Fulbright U.S. Student Scholarship to Spain, to teach English as a second language in grades 6-12. Except for one brief stint as a substitute teacher for APS, Matthew had not previously taught school. He had, however, worked at Isleta Pueblo as a youth advocate, traveled on his own through Mexico and Central America, and pursued an English major with a CW concentration at UNM with grades that put him repeatedly on the Dean’s List.
Justin Parks has started the PhD program in English at SUNY Buffalo
Sarah Baechle, graduated with MA in English, Medieval Concentration, in May 2007. She is now at Notre Dame, in the PhD program in Medieval Studies.
