Core Writing

Rhetoric and Writing sponsors four writing courses in the Speaking and Writing Core: English 101, 102, 219, and 220. Undergraduates must successfully complete English 102 (or the equivalent) in order to graduate.

Many sections of English 219 are offered entirely on line, and we have begun to offer all-online or hybrid sections of English 102, 219, and 220. "Hybrid" means that class meets face to face at least once a week and that a substantial portion of the interaction and writing takes place on line.
