Information about the Internship

What tasks will the intern perform; what specific/general skills/experience do you seek?

The internship will involve a wide variety of tasks associated with criminal prosecution, including litigation support, document management, review and analysis of complex written materials. There will also be opportunities to assist in the planning and production of training for law enforcement professionals in a variety of areas including child abuse, violence against women, identity theft, and forensic evidence.

What specific documents/communication projects will the intern work with and be able to present in a portfolio (or otherwise substantiate) upon completion of the internship?

The intern should produce a variety of written material including training materials, detailed manuals designed to provide analysis of complex information, and summaries of materials suitable for presentation in a courtroom.

How much supervision/mentoring will the intern likely receive or have available?

Interns will be supervised in all of their work, but will be required to rely on their own initiative in problem solving.

Is the internship paid or a volunteer opportunity? Volunteer

Expected range of hours worked per week (cannot exceed 20)

Hours are flexible, but adherence to deadlines is required.

Expected duration (normally cannot be less than 4 weeks)

The longer the better- most are suitable for a single semester .

Location of the work:

The Attorney General has offices in both Albuquerque and Santa Fe, but research at outside libraries is not uncommon.
