Alissa Sanchez

Alissa Sanchez will graduate from the University of New Mexico in May of 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in English, concentration in Professional Writing, and a minor in Art. She initially intended on pursuing Studio Art as her degree, but was strongly influenced by the many possibilities that a bachelor’s degree in English offered. After enrolling in a Proposal/Grant Writing course that was offered online, Alissa changed her major to English with a concentration in Professional Writing. Currently, Alissa is interning with Word Play Inc., a non-profit organization that teaches foreign languages to elementary school children, researching and writing grant proposals. Following this experience as a grant writer, Alissa hopes to continue improving her grant writing skills and to write grants professionally in the non-profit workplace or elsewhere.
