PLANNING YOUR FIRST SEMESTER

To begin your studies in the School of Engineering, you will need to review several factors.

• look at your ACT/SAT scores and the SOE Math Placement
• review the related courses you have taken in High School, or another institution, to determine if you have the necessary academic preparation
• honestly evaluate your own skills and preferences

In collaboration with your advisor, decide which courses you will take to begin your studies. For your first semester you should enroll in:

• Math
• English
• Science
• UNM Core Curriculum Electives
You may choose additional courses after consulting with your advisor.
