FRI Faculty Research Grants
Application Deadline: TBA Spring 2010The Feminist Research Institute is now accepting applications for Faculty Research Grants. These annual small grants are intended as “seed money” to support feminist research or projects focused on the study of gender and/or sexuality. They are not intended to support conference travel. Proposals for interdisciplinary projects are particularly welcome, and junior faculty are encouraged to apply. Only full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty are eligible. The maximum grant amount is $1000.
Proposals for research about or in collaboration with women outside the United States will be considered for the Susan Geiger award, which is given in memory of 1997 Feminist Research Institute Visiting Scholar and University of Minnesota Professor Susan Geiger.
Applicants should submit the following:
- A 2-to-3 page proposal (single-spaced; 12-point type);
- A cover page with current contact information (department affiliation and campus mail address; email address; office telephone number);
- A brief CV;
- A detailed budget.
Funds may be requested for research trips, supplies, graduate assistant stipends or other research expenses. Grants cannot cover stipends for applicants. Grant money should be used in the summer, and must be spent before December 31, 2010. Each awardee will be asked to give a public talk on his or her research during the 2010-2011 academic year. For more information, please contact Anita Obermeier at AObermei@unm.edu.
Four copies of the proposal and supporting materials should be sent by the Spring Deadline to:
