ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ART IN STUDIO ART
UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF ART & ART HISTORY POSITION: Assistant Professor of Art in Studio Art. Full-time. Probationary appointment leading to tenure decision. To teach all levels of Painting and Drawing, including 2-D design and foundations. Literate in electronic media. Service on committees and other responsibilities expected. SALARY: $42,000 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MFA in Studio Art with emphasis in Painting & Drawing. Exhibiting artist. University-level teaching experience beyond TA. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Commitment to painting and drawing as demonstrated by national or regional exhibition record and creative work. Conversant in contemporary issues of theory and aesthetics, especially as they relate to painting and drawing and an ability to teach related courses. Teaching experience at the graduate level.
