Introducing Our New Faculty

Every year, the College of Fine Arts welcomes new faculty along with new students into its programs. The ritual is at once familiar and pChristopher Meadrophetic, at once an end to meticulous searches and the start to promising futures for those accepted into our academic family. Their differences of background, training and experience renew the mission of our college by bringing fresh perspectives to the teaching of art, art history, media arts, music, theater and dance. Challenging the more seasoned veterans of our programs with their willingness to experiment, new faculty, like new students, stimulate our thinking with unexpected ideas. In so doing, they help to keep our curriculum vital and engaged, as well as disciplined and informed.

I feel a special kinship with this year's class of freshman teachers because, though an established member of the college, I am new to the position of dean. I share their delight in the college and the palpable sense they express that anything is possible given their wonderful colleagues and students. Through the following profiles, I invite you to get to know them as I have and to share their pride in joining our ranks. They prove that our college continues to grow in distinction by remaining young at heart.
