The Charles Edward Brown and
Katherine McBride Brown Scholarship Fund

Qualifications: Full-time undergraduate (12 hours) or graduate students (6 hours) working in the Tamarind Institute or majoring in Media Arts or the Departments of Art & Art History, Music, or Theatre & Dance

Selection Criteria:
Selection shall be based on talent and academic achievement (with a 3.0 or better). Scholarships may be awarded to the same students in successive semesters provided the recipients are making adequate academic progress and are maintaining a grade point average of 3.0 or better. Scholarships shall be used to pay for tuition, books, fees and other charges required by UNM.

The recipient shall be encouraged to communicate with the donor or family of the donor during the time the scholarship is held.

Neither age, sex, race, color, religion nor place of national origin shall be considered when the recipients are selected.

Amount: One or two $1,000 scholarships awarded annually.

Process:

  1. Submit an application (pick up in CA 1103 or print on-line application) to your faculty recommender who will add his/her recommendation and submit it to the department office
  2. Selection committee reviews nominations and selects recipients
  3. Recipients will be notified of awards
