Tournees French Foreign Film Festival March 26 - April 23 2010
Between March 26 and April 23, The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures and The International Studies Institute at UNM will host Tournées, a festival of contemporary French and Francophone cinema on campus. Screenings feature five award winning selections from French, Belgian, and Franco-Tunisian directors such as Michel Ocelot, Yves Jeuland, Abdellatif Kechiche, Laurent Cantet and Agnès Varda. The films, which explore different aspects of the French cultural and political landscape, will be free to all UNM students, staff, and faculty. The Tournées Festival was made possible with a generous grant that Raji Vallury, Assistant Professor of French, received from the French American Cultural Exchange (FACE), and the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the French Ministry of Culture (CNC). All screenings will take place on Friday evenings between 7 and 9pm in Room 2018, located in the Center for the Arts (Popejoy Hall, 2nd floor).
