The UNM Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures offers a major and a minor in German on the undergraduate level, and an M.A. in German Studies on the graduate level. The second major in German enhances degrees in many other fields, including business administration, political science, education, engineering and medicine. The German Summer School of New Mexico, held in Taos Ski Valley, offers a unique opportunity for students of German at UNM to study with visiting professors from German speaking countries and from all over the U.S. Students with four semesters of German are eligible to participate in the German Summer School and can earn 6-7 credit hours for each summer session, up to a maximum of two summers.
