Informal clothing. The only events that call for festive attire are the opening and closing dinners and the visit to the Santa Fe Opera. Bring some warm clothes, sturdy hiking shoes, and rain gear.
Recreational equipment. Volleyball, whiffle ball, and hiking are organized by the Summer School. You may want to bring your own equipment for the above and/or for camping, tennis, horseback riding and/or fishing.
Musical instruments. Music plays an important role at the Summer School; in the past we have had classical, rock, and jazz performances. Please bring your instrument as well as your favorite CDs for dancing. Please do not bring radios, CD players, etc.
Money. The room and board fee covers all meals and lodging for the duration of the school. Picnic lunches are prepared for the days when there are excursions. The tuition and fees do NOT cover shuttle service from and to the airport, book expenses, the Goethe-Institut exam fee, or the Opera ticket; be prepared to pay up to $250 for these. In addition, you should bring pocket money for personal expenses. Please note that neither the Summer School nor the Snakedance is in the position to cash personal or traveler’s checks.
