Catalog Description: Exploration of the major areas of health information pertinent to understanding how to achieve, maintain, and promote positive health. Topics covered include mental health, drugs, human sexuality, prevention and control of diseases, nutrition, consumer health, and ecology.

Catalog Description: A one- to three-hour seminar for 25 first term freshmen which meets once a week to explore the university, its resources, and how to enhance important skills for a positive college experience.

 

FIG 654- The transition from high school to college can be dramatic and shocking, and it can have many effects on your emotional and physical health. This class is a positive and fun way to learn about the changes that will occur, not only during this difficult and exciting time, but also throughout your life. We will learn how to manage our health through a variety of methods such as movies, guest speakers and hands on activities. Topics include sexuality, life choices, stress and time management and substance abuse. This FIG is designed to help you be successful in college and life!
