Catalog Description: Overview of the major content areas in psychology. Topics to be covered include learning, cognition, perception, motivation, biological systems, social and abnormal psychology, development, personality, and approaches to psychotherapy.

Catalog Description: A one- to three-hour seminar for 25 first term freshmen which meets once a week to explore the university, its resources, and how to enhance important skills for a positive college experience.

 

FIG 662- Various approaches to the study of hope have been around for decades, but today hope has emerged as a critical concept as our society faces terrorism and war. In such uncertain times, individuals feel hopeless and helpless in approaching their lives and their future, and in assisiting others gaining hope, set personal goals, and begin to recognize positive vs. negative influences in order to remail hopeful. Students will discuss current issues and investigate resources that are needed to create hope in their day to day living. Students entering the helping professions are encouraged to take this course.
