Catalog Description: Philosophical issues and methodology illustrated through selected problems concerning values, knowledge, reality; and in social, political, and religious philosophy.

Catalog Description: A one- to three-hour seminar for 25 first term freshmen which meets once a week to explore the university, its resources, and how to enhance important skills for a positive college experience.

 

FIG 665- Through innovative, exciting exercises and opportunities, this FIG will address the basic career questions that first-year students face. Areas include: how personality, values and beliefs affect their career choice; choosing a major and using it to identify specific job titles and career interests; putting together a career portfolio with resumes, cover letters and interview techniques; and understanding the careeer timeline so not to miss crucial opportunities including internships, job searches or graduate school application. This seminar is beneficial for undecided students as well as for students who have a strong sense of direction and are needing specific information on how to reach their career goals at UNM.
