LLCs are offered during the fall semesters only for first-time, incoming freshmen.
The deadline to apply for the Fall 2012 LLC is 12:00 p.m., July 18, 2012. You must have completed your LLC application, and your Housing application in order for us to place you in an LLC, and to send you a confirmation letter. Confirmation letters to participants who meet the deadline will be emailed to the email address provided on the LLC program application. This confirms your participation, and provides you with registration information for when you come to your summer freshman orientation. Also, even if your orientation date is after the LLC deadline, just as long as you have applied and been confirmed in a space in the LLC, you can attend any orientation date that is still available, and at that time you will register for your LLC classes.
Confirmed LLC students can call Housing AFTER July 25th to inquire about room and apartment assignments. You can find out who your roommates are only if the roommate has signed a release of confidentiality on their Housing application. Confirmed LLC students can move in to their apartments typically on the Tuesday before classes begin.
Early move in, as in the case for band students in the Fine Arts LLC, can move in on Monday. For details, students will need to contact Housing Reservations.
Parking Permit process for LLC students typically begins around July 10. Check http://housing.unm.edu for specific and updated information.
For questions regarding meal plans that are required for all freshmen living on campus, including the LLC, contact Lobo Card Services at the Student Union Building.
You can reserve your freshman summer orientation space at the following websites, when their reservation process is available:

Regarding student concerns and reporting structure
LLC Students should always take initiative in approaching and speaking with their LLC seminar leader with any issue they may have. Teacher-student confidentiality is upheld in the highest regard. The seminar leader is a University trained professional that can direct the student in many ways. The Residence Life staff is also very engaged in supporting the LLC students in residence and social life, as with all University students. The LLC seminar leader and Residence Life staff work together to help the LLC student have meaningful experiences with successful outcomes.
LLC students should always take initiative in approaching and speaking with the LLC Director with any issue they may have by contacting the director at 505-277-6515, or email figllc@unm.edu. Director-student confidentiality is upheld in the highest regard.
If parents and guardians of LLC students wish to discuss anything about the progress of the student with the LLC Teaching Staff or the Director, the student must have already granted a privacy waiver to the parent or guardian.
