(Accounting Staff Skill Enhancement Training)

General Accounting is pleased to introduce ASSET, the Accounting Staff Skill Enhancement Training program.  The goal of this program is to provide face-to-face guidance to Main Campus and Branch departments, regarding General Accounting processes, policies, procedures and resources.  In addition to answering your questions, we also want to gain a better understanding of the specific issues that your college, school or department faces in regard to the processing of financial transactions, so that we can better serve you.

Here’s how ASSET works:

• You contact General Accounting at gacal@unm.edu, and provide the topics that you would like to discuss, including any suggestions you may have for process improvements.  We can’t promise to implement suggestions, but we’ll at least listen!
• We’ll schedule a time to come to your area, prepared to provide guidance on these topics.
• We’ll provide an overview of the resources available to you, specifically on the General Accounting website.
• Access to an overhead projector will be helpful.  If you don’t have this, we can schedule the session at the Business Center.
• Sessions will be approximately 90 minutes in length, but we’ll come back as many times as you need.
