The GA
meeting begins July 24 and concludes on July 25th. The session will be followed by a
“debriefing” on July 26th. In this
final coordination meeting before the GA, the group must have a consensus with
respect to the presentation of policy recommendations for the ICAS. The group will present policy proposals to
the General Assembly, addressing the most important policy issues and policy
initiatives. Each group puts forward
concrete proposals. The
proposals must include not only objectives but also proposed activities
designed to achieve the objectives. Given
that it is assumed the activities will not be costless, the group must stipulate
its preferences for expenditures in activities in all areas covered by the
group teams. This set
of preferences will be tallied by the Secretary General during the GA. |
