DESCRIPTION    This course is an examination on a comparative basis of national systems of administration in developed and developing countries, focusing on the organization and behavior of public  bureaucracies.

CURRICULUM AND COURSE ADMINISTRATION  This course includes assigned readings described in the course syllabus as well as assigned readings from public sector sources.   The reading material covers a wide spectrum, ranging from scholarly analysis drawn from the world of academia and research think tanks to coverage of contemporary public administration practices drawn from international organizations, governments, and non-governmental organizations.   

 

COURSE REQUIREMENTS   The course schedule and guide to analytical materials specify the sequence and treatment of topics and the timing of exams and studios.  Grading for the course is based upon: 1) participation in class discussions (25 percent); 2) Class presentation (25 percent); and 3) course final report (50 percent).
