Story Guidelines

  1. Stories must be typed and double-spaced
  2. Stories must be complete.  Discussing unfinished stories is a frustrating and largely futile exercise.  Endings are difficult, but necessary. (If you aren't satisfied with an ending, it can always be revised later.)
  3. All stories are works-in-progress, under development.  However, these drafts should not be rough.  Allow time to smooth out your sentences, run spell check, punctuate correctly, etc.  Make sure your draft is reasonable clean before turning it in for copying.
  4. Include your name on the first page.
  5. The story must have a title.  (If you don't like it, change it later.)
  6. Number your pages.
  7. Your subject matter is up to you, but consider your audience.  If you are prone to writing extremely violent or horrific stories, please check with me first.
  8. Drafts of stories should be a minimum of 8 pages and a maximum of 25 pages.
