Read "Helping" (YGRT p. 130)
Write a reading response: (1) Your Impressions (2) What craft
aspect of this story interests me you most? Why? (3) How has
Smiley's essay on revision help you think about revising your story? (4)
Revise your story draft with "Helping" open beside you. Deliberately
imitate some aspect of it you admire from a craft perspective. Write a
paragraph about what you've done and how it's affected/changed your story.
Cut and paste a passage or two from these changes into this reading response.
