Finance Committee Information

The Finance Committee organizes the annual GPSA budget. It must work closely with the GPSA President and officers to keep a balanced budget. The committee also supervises the Finance Committee funding process that allocates money to dozens of different graduate and professional student organizations.

Because of changes made to the GPSA by-laws in 2000, the funding process is significantly different for departmental organizations. There is now a distinction made between Departmental and non-Departmental organizations in the GPSA.

Departmental organizations will receive funds for the 2002-2003 fiscal year and beyond solely through pro-rated benefits (PB) awards made each semester and are not eligible for GPSA budget funding. Departmental organizations are no longer required to participate in the Finance Committee funding process but will instead receive an increased PB award. PB Funds are dependant upon the number of students enrolled in each department. For more information on PB Funds, please click here.

Non-Departmental organizations may apply for annual budget funding through the GPSA Finance Committee.
