Admission Process ---- Domestic Students
15. How do I reapply if I did not enroll?

If you did not enroll for the semester to which you were admitted, you must submit a new Application Form, Residency Form and the application fee. 

16. What is the difference between re-apply and re-admit?
Re-apply is the term used for students who have previously applied to a graduate degree program at UNM but never attended.
No records are held for more then two years.

Less than two years: a new Application Form, Residency Form and Application Fee must be submitted to the Office of Admissions, and you must update your transcripts and forward to the Office of Admissions any additional transcripts indicated by this update.

Over two years: a new Application Form, Residency Form, Application Fee and two official transcripts from each college you have attended. This must include an update of your transcripts since you originally applied.

Re-admit is the term used for students who have previously attended the University of New Mexico in graduate status, but have not been enrolled for three or more semesters (including summer sessions) and are seeking re-admission to the same program. They must submit an Application Form, Residency Form, and fee directly to the Office of Admissions. You must update your transcripts and forward to the Office of Admissions any additional transcripts indicated by this update.

17. Is the application form the same for re-apply? for re-admit?

Yes. 

18. Do I have to pay an application fee if I'm re-applying?

Yes.

19. Do I have to pay an application fee if I'm re-admitting?

Yes.

20. How do I change a degree level?

Currently enrolled UNM graduate students may change their degree level  by submitting a Change of Degree Level form available at www.unm.edu/grad.  This must be approved by the department/graduate unit.

21. What is the process for changing programs?

You must contact the department/graduate unit first, then submit an Application, Residency Form and Fee to the Office of Admissions.
