The GRE General Test is a computer-adaptive test required for some graduate programs. For information about the test and availability in your area visit the GRE web site at www.ets.org/gre.

| 24. Is the GRE given at the University of New Mexico? |
The General GRE is offered in Albuquerque at the Prometric Testing Center. Call 505-296-0609 for further information.
Subject tests are available at the Testing Center at the University of New Mexico. Call 505-277-5345 for an information packet or you may schedule a testing session to be taken at the Center on-line at www.ets.org/gre.

25. How can I get help reviewing for the GRE?
|
The Educational Testing Service makes study materials and practice tests available to everyone who registers for the GRE. Review software and books for GRE preparation are also available at most bookstores.

| 26. Have my GRE results come in? |
If you have requested your scores sent to UNM, the Office of Admissions will receive an electronic copy within two weeks after you have taken the test and the scores will be entered into your file in the UNM Student database. This is approximately the same time you receive a copy of the results in the mail. If you did not request the results sent to UNM, you are responsible to supply a copy to the department you are seeking admission. It is very important to keep a personal copy of the results in a safe place for future reference.

| 27. Have my transcripts been received? |
Please allow this process at least two to four weeks from the date you requested them sent to the Office of Admissions, UNM. Once the Office of Admissions at the University of New Mexico receives the transcripts they are date stamped and entered into the UNM Student database with the date received noted. The department you are applying to has access to this information.

| 28. Do I have to submit official transcripts? |
Yes, the only exception is for transcripts from the University of New Mexico.

| 29. What constitutes an "official" transcript? |
Transcripts that arrive unopened to the Office of Admissions, University of New Mexico from the institution issuing the transcript are considered "Official". They will be date stamped "Official" when they are received.

| 30. How many sets of transcripts do I have to submit? |
One from each previously attended institution.

| 31. Can I get a copy of my transcripts from _____ University to use for ... |
No. Applications and transcripts become the property of the University of New Mexico and can not be issued to a third party. Students should contact the institution that issued the transcript for additional copies.
