OFFICE OF GRADUATE STUDIES

The mission of the Office of Graduate Studies is to carry out the policies and procedures for graduate education established by the faculty and the Senate Graduate Committee. The overall goal is to achieve excellence in graduate education. This goal is shared by the Senate Graduate Committee and individual graduate departments/divisions with the University. The Office of Graduate Studies oversees the maintenance of academic standards and the implementation of graduate program policies (excluding the professional programs in management, law, medicine and pharmacy).

The University of New Mexico offers both professional (Business, Law, and Medicine) degrees as well as master's and doctoral degrees in a variety of fields and disciplines through the following graduate colleges and schools:

• School of Architecture and Planning;
• College of Arts and Sciences;
• College of Education;
• School of Engineering;
• College of Fine Arts;
• Health Sciences Center;
• School of Public Administration; and
• University College.

The Dean of the Office of Graduate Studies reports to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs.
