RECREATIONAL FACILITIES

The Recreational Services Department is an extensive recreational and sports program under the supervision of the Director of Recreational Services. Many exciting recreational opportunities such as Fitness, Open Recreation, Aquatics, Recreational Sports, Getaway Adventures, Outdoor and Bicycle Shop and Special Populations are available for UNM faculty at Johnson Center or other off-campus locations.

Recreational facilities on-campus include three large gymnasiums, two swimming pools and a therapy pool, wrestling room, dance studios, racquetball and tennis courts, student and faculty/staff weight room, locker rooms, jogging trails and athletic fields. Facilities are available for use during Open Recreation hours. You must have a LOBO Card to gain access to Johnson Center.

Many faculty take advantage of Johnson Center’s noontime open recreation. Faculty and staff ”pick-up” basketball and volleyball games are usually available on several different courts. Racquetball Courts are also reserved for faculty and staff only during the noon hour. Call 277- 0178 for a court reservation.

For detailed schedules of activities, a complete listing of all program offerings and recreation hours, please contact Recreational Services at 277-0178. You may dial 277-4347 for a recorded message, visit Johnson Center, Room 1102 or obtain information on-line at http://recservices.unm.edu/.
