FACILITIES The Recreational Services
Department is an extensive recreational and sports program under the supervision
of the Director of Recreational Services. Many exciting recreational opportunities
such as Fitness, Open Recreation, Aquatics, Recreational Sports, Getaway
Adventures, Outdoor and Bicycle Shop and Special Populations are available
for UNM faculty at Johnson Center or other off-campus locations. Recreational facilities
on-campus include three large gymnasiums, two swimming pools and a therapy
pool, wrestling room, dance studios, racquetball and tennis courts, student
and faculty/staff weight room, locker rooms, jogging trails and athletic
fields. Facilities are available for use during Open Recreation hours. You
must have a LOBO Card to gain access to Johnson Center. Many faculty take advantage
of Johnson Center’s noontime open recreation. Faculty and staff ”pick-up”
basketball and volleyball games are usually available on several different
courts. Racquetball Courts are also reserved for faculty and staff only
during the noon hour. Call 277- 0178 for a court reservation. For detailed schedules
