RETIREE ASSOCIATION
(Please note: the following information was taken from bylaws for the Retiree Association.)
A University of New Mexico
Retiree Association presently exists through authorization ofthe Regents of
the University of New Mexico. It is meant to organize as a separate entity for
the purpose of representing and promoting the welfare and interests of all retired
employees of the University.
Any retired faculty and staff employee and any spouse, partner, widow, or widower of any retired employee of the University of New Mexico may become a member of the Association upon payment of annual dues. Retired employees of the University, for the purpose of being eligible for membership in the Association, shall include retired employees of all branch campuses, foundations and other affiliated organizations of the University, including all organizations within the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.
The objective of the Association is to enhance the quality of life for its members. The Association will organize activities of special interest to retirees; establish and maintain liaison with appropriate University organizations to assure retiree interests are being recognized; and will provide a channel of communications through which retiree's interests and concerns can be representated to the University administration.
