Welcome to SHPE UNM RLDC 2008
About RLDC
Every year one University within Region III chooses to hosts an RLDC for their fellow chapters and every year it is a distinctive event; this year is no different. The University of New Mexico’s SHPE chapter, known as HESO- the Hispanic Engineering and Science Organization, has been hard at work developing an exceptional RLDC for our for our fellow Region III members to attend. The Official dates of this year’s event are April 3-5. During the 2008 Region III RLDC not only will participants have the opportunity to socialize with their fellow SHPE members of the region but there will also be an excess of knowledge and information pertaining to individual leadership for attendee’s to soak up. Come prepared to learn something new and meet many new friends.
As a spring board for upcoming SHPE Chapter leaders, this year’s event will allow new members to become acquainted with the central components of SHPE including members of the SHPE National Staff, the OneSHPE website, as well as the positions and responsibilities within a SHPE chapter. Other workshops at this year’s conference include a hands-on project presented by IBM, a workshop regarding leadership techniques and how to use them presented by Procter and Gamble, and also a workshop covering the many aspects of choosing an employer.
Aside from the workshops, a Scavenger Hunt event will be held to encourage teamwork among participants and will be followed by a BBQ social. And of course, a Gala Banquet followed by a Salsa dance will conclude our conference.
