Welcome to the Highway to Success Learning Communities program. I have eleven years of experience with UNMVC; first as a student and then as an employee. I am a graduate of Valencia Campus with an Associate Degree of Applied Science in General Studies and one of the first students to complete my Bachelor Degree in University Studies utilizing UNM Valencia Campus distance education resources. I am a GED recipient, former Valencia Campus student, and graduate of UNM Main Campus. I have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. I am a computer and math geek! Teaching Math as a member of the Highway to Success community is fun and challenging. My students all have cool and unique personalities and I enjoy assisting them in reaching their full potential. Not every student loves or even likes math, but all of my students have the ability to conquer math (and maybe even become a math geek too). Happy Day! As a formerly reluctant math student, I’m very excited to be joining the “Highway to Success” team as a math instructor. Being in a community where everyone wants you to succeed is truly the best way to do anything, especially when it comes to difficult subjects like math. My journey for “higher education” has taken me over 2000 miles with many bumps and twists. I received my BA in Astronomy-Physics from Colgate University and my MS in Physics from New Mexico Tech. It is my hope, working here, that I’ll be able to help my students avoid some of the bumps and encourage them to take as many twists as possible. I graduated in 2005 honored as Valedictorian from Valencia Campus earning an AA in both Business Administration and Liberal Arts.
I continued my education at Anderson School of Management receiving a BA in Business Administration.
