Otero is the Director of the University Honors Program. She is also the Associate Dean of University College. Her major focus is on strengthening the UNM Honors Program and promoting and advancing Honors education for outstanding students everywhere.

Ph.D. in Medieval and Renaissance Culture from Brown University. Ed teaches Ancient and Medieval Legacies, seminars on the arts, culture, and ethics.

Dr. Leslie Donovan

Ph.D. in Medieval Literature from the University of Washington. Alumnus of UNM and UHP. Faculty Advisor for Scribendi, the UHP & WRHC literary & art magazine for Honors students in the Western region. Leslie teaches humanities courses in early and medieval literatures, J.R.R. Tolkien, and the communications courses associated with Scribendi in small press publishing. Her recent publications include works on Beowulf, honors pedagogy, and valkyries in The Lord of the Rings.

Dr. Chris Holden

Ph. D. in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Chris is a mathematician for the people. His research interests include number theory, math education and video games as education and culture.

Dr. Celia López-Chávez

Ph.D. in History and Geography, with a focus on Latin America, from Universidad de Sevilla, Spain. Celia teaches courses on Latin American cultures, including history, literature, cinema, music, women’s movements, and politics. She has been the director of Conexiones in Spain, and co-director of the program From the Rockies to the Andes.
