What is CASAS?

CASAS is the most widely used system for assessing adult basic reading, math, listening, writing, and speaking skills. CASAS is the only adult assessment system of its kind to be approved and validated by the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Labor to assess both native and non-native speakers of English. Certified CASAS administrators within Continuing Education will assess participants as they progress in their English language skill development, so that they can be placed in the appropriate class level. Participants will move through the program according to each individual's progress in attaining English language proficiency.
