DESCRIPTION
Would you like to receive funding information that is tailored to your
needs and interests? Would you like to enhance your ability to identify
appropriate funding sources? The Office of Research Development Services, a
unit of the Office of the Vice President for Research, provides training on
how to access relevant information available via the Internet. You will
learn how to focus your searches, as well as develop skills to use the OVPR
Web site resources including the Midas Databases of Funding Sources and
SMARTS/GENIUS (research profile and funding matching system)

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion
of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Search the
MIDAS Databases of Funding Sources and be able to construct simple and
complex search strategies.
- Create a SMARTS/GENIUS profile to receive funding alert information
that is targeted specifically to your areas of expertise and interest.
- Describe
the content and features of the Research Web Site.
- Describe
related resources on the web.
WHO
SHOULD ATTEND?
Faculty, research
staff, administrative and support staff involved in researching funding
opportunities and sources/guidelines.
PRE-REQUISITES
UNM e-mail
account and familiarity with Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer,
or other grapical web browser.
