Ethics for Everyone:
A Framework for Ethical Decision-Making

 

   
 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Today it is more important than ever to have the resources and tools TO make ethical decisions. There is not always a clear “right” answer in every situation, but there are many aspects to consider when making decisions. In this workshop, we'll identify ways that ethical behavior benefits UNM and WE'LL look at several UNM policies and UNM Values that support ethical choices. We will ALSO offer suggestions to consider when making decisions.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Following this workshop the learner will be able to:

  • Describe how ethical behavior benefits UNM.
  • Identify policies that support ethical behavior.
  • Recognize how UNM Values, POLICIES, procedures, and guidelines establish a framework to assist employees IN MAKING ethical decisions.
  • Identify four steps that help when evaluating decisions.
  • Identify available UNM resources.
  • Develop an approach to handle competing “rights” in ethical decisions.

All UNM employees

None

TEACHING METHODS

Class discussion, small group activities, case studies, and video.
