GETTING STARTED — THE FACULTY INFORMATION FORM

In the middle of the semester, your IDEA Departmental Coordinator will give you an IDEA Faculty Information Form (“FIF”) to fill out.

On the FIF you specify both your course details as well as the learning objectives for your students. See Instructions: Completing the FIF.

You can specify up to 12 learning objectives for your course, although in practice you should specify at least three and no more than five objectives. See: Instruction: Selecting FIF Objectives.

Additionally, you must weight each of your learning objectives as either “Important” or “Essential.” Careful thought must be given to the weightings, as they affect the recommendations that the IDEA will report to you for improving your teaching.

Return the Faculty Information Form to your IDEA Departmental Coordinator prior to your students filling out the IDEA student survey.
