EXIT ICES... |
The ICES evaluation system was developed in the 1970s at the University of Illinois. Data processing and reporting require use of an IT mainframe that is being decommissioned starting Summer 2008.
IDEA is an acronym for Individual Development and Educational Assessment. The IDEA system was developed by Kansas State University. It is used by approximately 200 universities and colleges in North America. The current version, revised from an older product, has existed since 1997 and has been subjected to exhaustive validation studies.
IDEA will be used at UNM as an outsourced service—all data processing and reporting would be done at Kansas State University and would not involve heavy participation by IT.
A select group of instructors piloted IDEA successfully in the Fall of 2007.
