Welcome to the Society of Professors of Education Home Page. This site provides information about the Society, its history, and current activities. The Society's primary goal is to provide a forum for consideration of major issues, tasks, problems and challenges confronting professional educators. SPE is an interdisciplinary organization. Our members include both theoreticians and practitioners in education.

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND UPCOMING EVENTS
AERA (NEW ORLEANS) April 8 - 12, 2011.
SPE Board Meeting will held as an affiliated group at AERA, 2011, Saturday afternoon, April 9, New Orleans Marriott, Iberville. The Wisniewski Award for Teacher Education, The DeGarmo Lecture and The Mary Anne Raywid Award will be presented at the business meeting. This is an open meeting and all are warmly invited to attend! The DeGarmo Lecture: William Schubert, University of Illinois at Chicago, will give the 2011 DeGarmo lecture.
The Mary Anne Raywid Award: William H. Watkins, University of Illinois at Chicago, will give the 2011 Raywid lecture.
The Wisniewski Award for Teacher Education : The Graduate School of Education and Counseling, Lewis and Clark College, Portland Oregon.
The Council for Social Foundations of Education Business Meeting, was held at the American Educational Studies Association (AESA)Annual Meeting, Denver, October 27 - 31, 2010. See csfeonline.org for information about the Council's current activities.
