General Information About JSHS:
Junior Science & Humanities Symposia's main goal is to promote research and experimentation in science, engineering, and mathematics at the high school level, and publicly recognizing students for outstanding achievements. Each symposium, including forty-seven regional and the national, provides a forum for high school students to present the results of their original research. Students who participate get the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas, interact with practicing researchers, and explore future academic and career opportunities. The Southwest Regional JSHS brings students together from New Mexico and Southwest Texas. The program is similar to other JSHS programs though out the country. Sessions include lectures and seminars on the value of the sciences and humanities to the students, and presentations of student research papers. There will be opportunities for students to tour science and research facilities, and meet prominent scientists and engineers in the Albuquerque area. |
