Just like the landscaping in our yard.

We will start with the front courtyard.

This is the view looking north.

And this is the view looking south.

These are views north and south before and after we started. Lots of sand and clay. After adding lots of compost, leveling things, planting, adding irrigation, and finally, mulching, the views look much better.

These were taken in early summer. By the end of the summer, everything had grown considerably. All of these plants need water once per week or less. We put in a soaker irrigation hose since the plants are close together. Come back next year, when I put up a pictures of the second year.(Labels for the plants should go up soon.)

These are the views at the end of the second summer. If anything, we have too many plants. These are all on a 1X/week water schedule. We use drip irrigation to each individual plant (soaker hose didn't work out very well- it wasted water).
