Review of a Telecomputation Site

The web site I choose to review is called "Kidlink".The URL address is: http://www.kidlink.org. It is the fruit of the work of a non-profit organization that serves youth up to 15 yars old, and It is supported by about 66 mailing lists. The web site was established in March 25th, 1990 and it has now about 125,000 kids as members from 125 coyntries including my own country, Yemen. The activities in the website are introduced in 16 different languages. It is very simple for a kid to be a member just by answering the main four questions:

1- What's your name? age? gender? living place? name of school? hobbies?,  and concerns?

2- What do you want to be when you grow up?

3- How do you want the world to be when you grow up?

4- What can you do now to make this happen?

The activities in the website differ to be available for individual differences among kids all over the world. Here are the

main areas:

* Kidcafe list: Open-email global dialogue.

*Kidproject list: conferences suppoting short or long term projects.

*Kidforum list: A group of mailing lists for discussion of one topic at a time (two months per topic).

*Real_Time interactions: IRC & MUSH (open chatting).

*The kidlink gallery of computer art.

*K-house: A specific program to help disadvantaged kids join the website.

I will try to make some more research on the web site so I can let my kids join to it in the soon future.
