Biology Departmental Honors Program

Students undertake biology honors their last three semesters as an undergraduate at UNM. This program provides an opportunity for students with a strong interest in biology and with proven excellence in academic pursuits to carry out in-depth research in biology. The departmental honors program is open to junior and senior (the sooner, the better!) biology majors with an overall GPA of 3.2 or higher and a GPA of at least 3.5 in a minimum of 20 credit hours of biology courses. The student also must identify a core or adjunct/research faculty member who will serve as advisor for their honors thesis.
