LabPhon 12

Reviewers

Reviewing is being handled through the EasyChair system (http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=labphon12). Reviewers should have received an email message notifying them that abstracts have been assigned to them for review. If you are a reviewer, once you are logged in to EasyChair, the system will identify which abstracts have been assigned to you.

Here is some guidance for using EasyChair.

1. The EasyChair page for LabPhon 12 is
http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=labphon12.
From this page, you have to enter your EasyChair user name and password. If you have not previously used EasyChair, or if you have forgotten your user name or password, click on the link below the login dialog box on the page listed above, or go directly to http://www.easychair.org/conferences/login_forgot.cgi.
EasyChair identifies you by your email address. When you log in to review, it is important that you enter the exact form of your email that it has on record. This will be the address that we have used to send you messages from EasyChair or LabPhon12. If this is not the correct form of your address, please contact us at labfon12 "AT" unm.edu and tell us the correct form, so we can change it. If you have previously used EasyChair for another conference, it will have retained a record of your account. Please see the instructions above if you do not remember your user name or password.

2. When you have logged in to EasyChair, from the “Reviews” menu shown in the top-level menu bar, click on “My papers”. You should see a list of the abstracts you have been assigned.
In order to see an abstract, under the title, click on “PDF”. If the “Attachment” link is also enabled, please look at that as well. The interface was confusing, and in some cases, authors submitted one page of their abstract as the PDF, and the second page as the Attachment. In other cases they submitted the entire abstract twice.

3. Once you have read an abstract and are ready to review it, click on the Reviews menu, select “My papers”. Then under the paper title, click on “Add review”. This takes you to an on-line form in which you submit your ratings and comments.
There is also a mechanism for downloading a review form which you then complete and upload. We recommend using the on-line form which seems simpler. If for some reason you prefer to use the downloadable form, please note that before uploading, you have to remove the --- comment markings in front of the ratings that you want to submit.

All abstracts have been assigned to three reviewers, often with quite different areas of expertise. In doing your reviews, please consider the overall scientific quality of the research and its general interest to a LabPhon audience, remembering that all sessions are plenary.

If you are unfamiliar with LabPhon, you can get a feel for the content of the conference by looking at programmes of the last two conference meetings at LabPhon 11 and LabPhon 10 (click on “Program” at the top).

Please complete your reviews by January 10. We have promised to notify authors by February 1, and need time before that to process the reviews.

If you have any problems or questions, please email labfon12 "AT" unm.edu.

Thank you for your assistance with this important task.
