About the Symposium
The Gentlemen of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. at the University of New Mexico are proud to announce the inaugural “New Mexico Youth Leadership Symposium”. The event will be held on April 17th, 2009 at the Student Union Building at the University of New Mexico. We have planned a full day of interactive workshops, leadership training, and guest speakers aimed at getting nominated high school students interested in all aspects of leadership.
From community involvement to leadership characteristics the symposium agenda has been strategically planned to spark student’s interest in various aspects of leadership while encouraging them to continue their education by promoting college level academics as a viable step towards becoming community leaders. Moreover, they will hear from various speakers on topics ranging from dress attire to distinct leadership styles. A broad spectrum of topics will be covered so that these young participants can identify and relate to each theme. In doing so, we will aggressively promote continued education as a viable means in shaping the young minds of society’s future leaders.
In today’s society we find our youth misguided, caught up in various problems ranging from high drop out rates, high teen pregnancies, and crime. Please accept our invitation and help us make a difference by joining us in shaping New Mexico’s future… our future!
